What does the research on BPC-157 actually show?

A large, consistent animal literature reporting faster healing across many injury models, with mechanisms involving VEGFR2-mediated angiogenesis and the nitric-oxide system. Most of it comes from one laboratory in Zagreb, independent replication is limited, and there is no adequately powered human trial for any indication.

What is the half-life of BPC-157?

Short. Pharmacokinetic work in rats and dogs measured plasma half-lives from a few minutes to under half an hour. Effects reported in healing models last far longer than that, which is attributed to retention in tissue or persistent downstream signalling rather than to circulating peptide.

How was BPC-157 dosed in studies?

Animal studies most often used 10 µg/kg or 10 ng/kg body weight once daily, by intraperitoneal, intragastric or local routes. There is no validated human dose, and this page does not recommend one; the material sold here is for research use only.

What side effects does BPC-157 research report?

Animal studies describe it as well tolerated at the doses tested and formal toxicology found no lethal dose in the ranges studied. Human safety data is essentially absent, which is why the FDA declined to permit it in compounded medicines in 2023. Theoretical concerns include effects on tumour angiogenesis and blood pressure; neither has been demonstrated or excluded in humans.
